The year 2025 will remain one of the most significant in the recent history of forest fires in France. Marked by repeated heatwaves and episodes of prolonged drought, it has put territories under pressure. Faced with this intensification of risk, the challenges related to detection and intervention strategies have never been so central to controlling fires and limiting their impacts.

Faced with the climate emergency, some territories are becoming real privileged observation points to invent the protection of tomorrow. New Caledonia is one of them. It is there, in the heart of a rich ecosystem but extremely vulnerable to fires, that FireTracking laid the foundations for its development. A demanding field of experimentation that made it possible to design, test and validate a fire detection solution, thanks to artificial intelligence, which is now deployed in metropolitan France.

Each year, Indre-et-Loire faces more than 300 fires. A threat amplified by global warming and the drying up of vegetation. To strengthen its resilience, the department has chosen to set up our AI fire detection system on its territory in order to help the emergency teams in the field.

From October 8 to 10, FireTracking participated in the National Firefighters Congress, an unmissable event for all civil security actors. Alongside AXIONE, we presented our solution for the ultra-early detection of forest fires using artificial intelligence, which has already been successfully deployed in Indre-et-Loire. Today, forest fires represent one of the most destructive plagues for our territories. Every year, thousands of hectares go up in smoke, leaving behind devastated landscapes, fragile ecosystems and scarred populations. This risk is compounded by global warming, the intensification of droughts, the abandonment of certain areas or even human neglect. Faced with this growth, how can we prevent the flames from spreading too quickly, to the point of becoming uncontrollable? Perhaps one of the answers lies in ultra-early detection, which saves precious minutes and helps contain a fire before it turns into a disaster.

From June 11 to 14, 2025, FireTracking participated in Viva Technology, the largest European exhibition dedicated to innovation, alongside the NewCaledonianTech delegation. With 180,000 visitors, 4,000 partners and more than 14,000 startups from all over the world, Viva Tech 2025 has once again confirmed its status as an unmissable innovation event. Organized in Paris, the event brought together major players in tech, research and public policies around the major challenges of innovation and digital transition. For FireTracking, this international event offered a unique showcase to present our AI solution for detecting forest fires, at the crossroads of technology, the environment, human safety and the preservation of territories.

Climat. Si elle peut encore légèrement améliorer la détection précoce, l’intelligence artificielle aide surtout les pompiers dans le feu de l’action.

L'entreprise FireTracking a développé un algorithme permettant de repérer en trois minutes un incendie, avec un faible taux de fausses alarmes. Testé avec succès en Nouvelle-Calédonie, le système est déployé cette année en Indre-et-Loire.

Dans les Bouches-du-Rhône et en Bretagne, les sapeurs-pompiers ont dû lutter contre de nouveaux incendies depuis ce jeudi 17 juillet 2025. Alors que le niveau de risques ne cesse d’augmenter en France à cause du réchauffement climatique, les soldats du feu s’appuient sur les nouvelles technologies pour surveiller les terrains sensibles. Pour repérer des fumées suspectes, ils se servent notamment de l’intelligence artificielle.

Des Alpes-Maritimes à la Nouvelle-Calédonie, l’intelligence artificielle se met au service de la nature. Grâce à des caméras intelligentes et à des algorithmes capables de détecter les départs de feu, les pompiers disposent désormais d’un réseau de surveillance plus efficace.

Adrien Portron nous présente une caméra qui est devenue une alliée de poids pour les sapeurs-pompiers dans cette période d'incendie. Installé depuis quelques semaines dans le département d'Indre-et-Loire, cet outil est doté d'une intelligence artificielle.

Loïc de la Mornais s'intéresse dans cette deuxième partie aux menaces d’incendies et aux moyens de les prévenir dans le futur. Les technologies s’immiscent désormais dans le domaine de la sécurité, comme la vidéoprotection.
